The incident occurred on May 30 at a quiet intersection in Dong Minh Commune, Vinh Bao District. According to witnesses, the motorbike was traveling at high speed with three students on board, none wearing helmets, when it approached a junction where a van was turning left.

Unable to stop in time, the driver swerved but lost control, sending the bike flying off the road and into the canal.

In a split-second reaction, the student seated at the back jumped off the bike and grabbed onto a nearby bridge railing, narrowly avoiding the plunge.

Local residents quickly rushed to help, pulling the other two students and the bike from the shallow water. All three escaped without serious injuries.
