Vietnam's aviation industry boasts two domestic routes among the top 10 busiest in the world for July 2025, according to the latest report from the Official Airline Guide (OAG), a leading aviation data analytics firm.

The route connecting the nation's two largest economic and political hubs, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, remains one of the world's busiest domestic air routes, holding steady at third place in the ranking.

Seat capacity on this route decreased by 1% compared to July 2024, reaching 967,934 this year.

The route ranks behind Jeju – Seoul in South Korea, with 1.17 million seats, and Sapporo – Tokyo in Japan, with 1.02 million seats.

Another Vietnamese route, Da Nang – Hanoi, secured a spot in the top 10 busiest domestic routes globally for the first time, ranking eighth. Seat capacity on this route grew by 10% compared to the same period last year, reaching 634,727, the second highest growth rate in the top 10, only after Saudi Arabia's Jeddah – Riyadh route, which saw a 16% increase.

The Asia-Pacific region continues to dominate the ranking, accounting for seven of the 10 busiest international routes. Airports such as Seoul Incheon, Hong Kong, and Singapore Changi each appear twice on the list.

In July 2025, the Hong Kong - Taipei route remains the busiest international route, with 581,965 seats, maintaining the same capacity as in July 2024. The Cairo to Jeddah route is the second busiest with 491,047 seats, reflecting a 5% capacity increase compared to last year. In third place is Kuala Lumpur to Singapore Changi with 484,750 seats, showing a 4% year-on-year growth.

The rankings were compiled by OAG based on scheduled seat capacity in both directions for July 2025, using data from its Schedules Analyser tool.
