About two hours after takeoff, a 32-year-old Vietnamese male passenger seated in 24G began experiencing health issues, including symptoms of low blood pressure and cold hands and feet.
The flight crew called for assistance, and a nurse on board assessed the passenger's condition, determining that immediate medical intervention was necessary to save his life.
After discussing with Vietnam Airlines' operations center, the crew decided to divert to Taoyuan Airport, landing at 1:27 p.m.
Upon landing, the Vietnam Airlines office in Taiwan promptly arranged for the passenger to be transported to a local hospital. The passenger is now conscious and undergoing tests and health monitoring.
Flight VN307 resumed its journey to HCMC after the delay, arriving 3 hours and 10 minutes later than scheduled.
Vietnam Airlines has a history of making emergency landings to promptly help passengers with critical health issues, despite the additional costs for fuel and ground services.
