Tran Minh Hoang, 52, was detained on Wednesday by Quang Tri Provincial Police for "violating road traffic regulations" under the Penal Code.

According to the investigation, on the morning the same day, Hoang was driving a truck owned by Thanh Cua Transport Company, traveling on National Route 9 from Dong Ha Commune to the Lao border.

As the truck descended a hill near a red light in front of Tan Long Market in Lao Bao Commune, it veered into the wrong lane. The driver then attempted to turn left immediately, sending the truck directly into banana vendors along the roadside.
