Taxi flips multiple times in Da Lat crash, killing 1-year-old passenger

A taxi overturned multiple times after crashing into a fence in Da Lat tourist city in central Vietnam on Thursday, killing a one-year-old passenger and injuring her parents.

A 44-year-old driver was transporting the family of three from Hanoi on a rural road in Da Lat at around 11 a.m. The vehicle suddenly accelerated near a coffee shop, crashed into a fence, and flipped several times before landing on its roof.

Two motorbikes traveling in the opposite direction narrowly avoided the crash.

Bystanders broke the car windows to free the trapped victims and rushed them to Lam Dong General Hospital. Hospital officials confirmed the child died before arriving at the hospital.

The mother sustained severe injuries, while the father and the taxi driver suffered minor injuries.

Da Lat police are investigating the cause of the crash.
