A truck collided with a tour bus in Malaysia's Sabah on Monday, killing a Vietnamese woman and a Singaporean man.

The accident occurred at 3:30 p.m. when the truck's driver lost control before entering the opposite lane and hitting a bus carrying six Singaporean and Vietnamese tourists aged between 11 and 71, Free Malaysia Today reported.

The bus driver, who is a local man, and four Singaporean passengers were seriously injured and sent to a nearby hospital for treatment, the newspaper reported citing a police source.

The bus driver suffered a suspected brain haemorrhage, while the truck driver escaped unhurt, according to The Straits Times.

Following the accident, Malaysian police have arrested the truck driver, who is being investigated for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving that could face an imprisonment of up to 10 years and a maximum fine of RM50,000 (US$10,000).
