A San Marino vessel departing from Vietnam with four Russian sailors on board has made it to Hong Kong after going missing for five days.

The Success vessel, traveling from Vung Tau to Hong Kong on May 22, lost satellite signal about 20 km from shore.

The Russian sailors used their phones to contact the ship's agency abroad, but they could not determine the location of the vessel. As such, the management unit of the ship has requested help from Vietnamese authorities to search for the vessel.

The office of the National Committee for Disaster Incident Response, Search and Rescue broadcast information regarding the case and requested maritime administration and border guard forces to help with the search.

A representative of the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center in Area 3 on Monday said it had managed to contact with the crew of the Success. The vessel on Tuesday made it to the port of Hong Kong, with its crew members in normal health.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the signal loss.
