The project starts in Ben Luc District of Long An Province, and ends in Binh Chanh District of HCMC on the Provincial Road No. 830C.
The first section, 0.7 km long, from Nguyen Huu Tho Street to Nguyen Van Tiep Street, will be widened to 22 m. The remaining section, 8.3 km from Nguyen Van Tiep Street to Nguyen Huu Tri Street, will be expanded to 30 m.
Work is expected to start in the fourth quarter of this year and be completed by the end of next year, according to the Long An Department of Transport.
In addition to widening the road, the project will also include other components such as drainage systems, curbs, sidewalks, greenery and lighting. The total land area required for the project is nearly 9 hectares, affecting 770 households and 11 organizations. The cost of land clearance is VND220 billion.
The fund for the project will come from the state budget.
According to Ben Luc District authorities, the project will help alleviate traffic congestion in downtown Ben Luc town and enhance transportation connectivity with the national road network and HCMC.
