A young motorcyclist crashed into the rear of a car in Hai Phong in northern Vietnam while looking at his phone instead of paying attention to the road, causing a dramatic collision.

The accident occurred on Monday when the man was riding his motorbike at high speed on Nguyen Van Linh Street while using his phone.

Distracted, he slammed into the back of a Toyota Vios, as captured on the dashcam of a car behind him.

The impact sent him flying into the air and flipped over, while his motorbike became lodged in the car, severely damaging the rear. No serious injuries were reported.

Under current Vietnamese law, motorcyclists who cause traffic accidents due to mobile phone use can face fines ranging from VND10 to 14 million (US$400–560).
