Mother, 3 children killed as truck crashes into motorcycle in Hanoi

The accident took place at the crossroad between a street and a small bridge crossing a canal leading to the Duong Lieu industrial cluster in Hoai Duc.

The 1.5-ton truck was moving into the industrial cluster when it was hit on the side by a dump truck carrying building material.

The driver of the hit truck lost control and veered into the opposite lane, pushing a motorcycle carrying one adult and three children into the roadside guardrail.

When taken out, all four people on the motorbike had died.

Local authorities have later confirmed the four victims as a 32-year-old woman and her three children, two girls and one boy, aged 9-13.

At the scene, the truck's rear was close to the guardrail, with its side doors unhinged and misaligned. The side of the truck was dented.

The incident is under investigation.
