A driver of a ride-hailing service is under arrest after he got into a fight with passengers over wearing seat belts, which escalated to the point where he threatened them with a knife.

The driver picked up three passengers in Ho Chi Minh City's Binh Thanh District on Wednesday morning for a ride to Tan Son Nhat Airport.

Shortly after the passengers got in the seven-seat car, the two sides began quarrelling.

The driver stopped the car and all four of them got out to continue the fight.

According to eyewitnesses, one of the passengers punched the driver in the face.

The driver returned to his car and took out a knife, which he used to cut into the arm of the man.
