A baggage dolly collided with a plane by Taiwanese carrier Starlux Airlines at Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport on Wednesday, just before the aircraft was scheduled to depart.

The incident occurred at 5:16 p.m. when a tractor, operated by a driver from the Vietnam Airport Ground Services (VIAGS) company, was towing two baggage dollies. One of the dollies became unhitched and struck the front section of a Starlux Airlines A321 aircraft preparing for flight JX718 to Taiwan.

The collision resulted in a scratch on the aircraft, prompting Starlux Airlines to suspend the plane for safety inspections. After evaluations, the flight departed, reaching Taipei at 8:56 p.m., three hours later than originally scheduled.

Noi Bai Airport is currently working with relevant units to verify the incident and hand the case over to authorities.
