The truck driver, whose identity has yet to be revealed by authorities, was carrying a 40-foot container on a provincial road in Ho Chi Minh City-adjacent Cu Chi when the accident took place around 1 a.m.
Locals were perplexed by the accident.
"I was sleeping when I heard a loud noise," a nearby resident named Thang said. "As I rushed out, I saw a container truck inside my neighbors' houses. It's incredibly lucky that the wall made it stop."
Thang said the driver in question had fallen asleep to cause the accident.
The incident luckily claimed no lives, according to local authorities.
Security camera footage shows that the truck was moving at a steady speed when all of a sudden, it turns and crashes through the barrier before going straight into three roadside houses.
By Wednesday noon, the vehicle had yet to be removed from the three houses, all of which have been severely damaged.
Police are currently investigating the driver.
