The vehicle, driven by a 50-year-old driver, was running on the National Highway 28 at around 1 p.m. when it reached a sharp turn at the Cui Cho Pass of Dak Glong District. The bus fell down to the cliff afterwards.
The vehicle was carrying tourists, said Tran Nam Thuan, chairman of the Dak Glong People’s Committee. Authorities have brought all the injured to the Dak Glong medical center, he added.
A representative of the medical center said the facility has received 22 people injured people, including six with severe injuries. The severely injured have been transferred to the Dak Nong general hospital, while the rest stayed at the medical center for treatment.

Authorities said the sleeper bus was carried from HCMC and neighboring Binh Duong to the Ta Dung tourism site in Dak Song District. The accident happened when the vehicle was on its way back to Binh Duong.
The driver told the police that "the brake did not work" when the bus was going downhill, thus it hit the street divider before falling off the cliff.
