A 45-year-old Australian man is facing theft charges in Singapore after allegedly stealing luxury beauty products in two same-day incidents at Changi Airport's Terminal 1.

Authorities on Wednesday said the man targeted the Shilla Duty Free Cosmetics and Perfumes stores inside the airport's transit area on May 27. In the first theft, he allegedly walked off with a bottle of facial product valued at S$466 (US$345).

Later that same day, he is believed to have returned and stolen a second item: a bottle of perfume worth S$193, The Straits Times reported.

The back-to-back shoplifting incidents triggered a response from the Airport Police Division, who launched an investigation after being alerted late on May 27. Investigators identified the suspect and arrested him on June 1.

The man is expected to be formally charged in court on June 12, Mothership reported.
