Japan's ANA Group will shut down its hybrid airline brand AirJapan in March 2026, only about two years after its debut, as part of a major overhaul of its business strategy.

The carrier's final flights will depart on March 29, 2026: one from Bangkok at 0:10 a.m. and another from Singapore to Tokyo's Narita Airport at 0:55 a.m., marking the end of the short-lived brand that served medium-haul international routes.

ANA Holdings announced the decision in an Oct. 30 statement on its website, saying it will consolidate its operations under two remaining brands: full-service All Nippon Airways (ANA) and low-cost Peach Aviation, to boost efficiency and competitiveness amid global challenges such as the war in Ukraine, aircraft delivery delays and maintenance issues involving Boeing 787s, Mothership reported.

AirJapan's fleet and staff will be absorbed into ANA's international network. The parent company said the move would allow it to flexibly respond to changes in the business environment while maintaining safety and service quality.

ANA also clarified that "AirJapan" and "Air Japan" are separate entities: the former is the soon-to-be-discontinued hybrid brand, while Air Japan Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of ANA Holdings, will continue to operate flights for the main ANA brand after the reorganization.
