The accident occurred around 3 p.m. on Saturday as the driver was navigating Mai Chi Tho Street in the four-seater Maserati Levante. Upon reaching a bridge, the car suddenly struck the central divider and spun several times.
The impact shattered both the front and rear of the vehicle. Tires were flung forward, and the rear hood was thrown into an adjacent lane. Several airbags deployed, and the driver emerged unharmed and was able to exit the car safely. Debris from the collision was scattered more than 10 meters away.

"Fuel spilled across the road, but fortunately, the car did not catch fire, and the driver escaped in time," said a witness, noting that the vehicle was traveling at a relatively high speed before the crash.
Maserati, an Italian luxury car brand, manufactured the vehicle involved in the accident. This particular model was a Levante Trofeo Launch Edition, with a market price exceeding VND15 billion, including registration fees.

The incident caused a traffic jam lasting about an hour as authorities cordoned off the area to manage the situation. By 4 p.m., the wrecked car was towed away, and the road was cleared.
Mai Chi Tho Street in Thu Duc City spans approximately 9 km, beginning at Vo Van Kiet Street in District 1 and running through the Saigon River Tunnel. The road, with 12 lanes and a maximum speed limit of 80 km/h, is a crucial artery in the eastern part of the city, providing access to the HCMC – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway that connects the city with Dong Nai Province and Vung Tau beach town.
