28 tourists were rescued from a leaked speedboat in the Andaman Sea while traveling to Thailand's Phuket on Monday.

The Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park deployed boats to rescue the tourists, who were stuck off the coast of Krabi Province while traveling from Koh Lipe to Phuket, the Bangkok Post reported.

During the trip, sea waves had caused a leakage at the bottom of their boat, and the vessel could not be steered to Koh Phi Phi while water was invading it, the park said.

The tourists, including both Thai and foreign nationals, were later sent to Maya Bay following their rescue, awaiting for other boats to take them to their intended destination, the Pattaya Mail reported.
