"All three have been removed from traffic police force. One of them did not join the beating, but as the team leader, he was also punished," a Long An police leader said Tuesday.
The three officers were patrolling on Monday morning when they spotted a man driving a motorbike without the rear mirrors.
They signaled for the man to stop but he did not comply. Two officers on a motorbike chased after him and the one sitting pillion beat him with his baton, according to camera footage.
The man tried to flee, but was hit again until he stopped along the sidewalk.
The man was not injured and has been fined for his violations.
