TikTok mukbang star dies at 24 from obesity-related complications

He had been hospitalized for three months prior to his death on March 7, Turkiye Today reported.

Kultur gained popularity on TikTok with around 155,000 followers through his videos where he consumed large amounts of food rapidly. However, severe obesity eventually forced him to stop streaming as he became bedridden, suffering breathing difficulties and other health issues.

His last YouTube upload occurred approximately eight months before his death, while his final TikTok mukbang video was posted in October of the previous year.

In one of his final TikTok videos, Kultur acknowledged needing to reduce his salt intake due to health concerns, Indian Express reported.

By December, Kultur's health significantly declined, requiring hospitalization. The strain from his eating challenges resulted in limited mobility and multiple severe medical complications.

Last month, Japanese competitive eater and influencer Yuka Kinoshita announced her retirement from the mukbang scene, citing health deterioration and exhaustion from prolonged competitive eating.
