Three kids crushed to death as school gate collapses

All three kids three died on the spot when the school gate of the Ban Phung branch of the Khanh Yen Thuong Primary School fell on them at around 1:15 p.m., said Nguyen Manh Thang, head of Van Ban District's Education and Training Department.

The two first graders had come to attend afternoon classes starting at 2 p.m., Thang added.

The gate, two meters tall, is made of iron and has bars on it. It was not raining when the tragedy occurred. The Ban Phung branch teaches both kindergartners and primary school students of the Khanh Yen Thuong Commune.

The accident is being investigated.
