Three people, including a five-year-old boy, were declared free of the novel coronavirus Sunday morning in Quang Nam Province.

The other two recoveries are of men aged 46 and 48. The three patients have tested negative for the virus at least three times and were discharged from the Quang Nam Central General Hospital.

They will be quarantined at home for another 14 days and have two coronavirus tests conducted during that period as per the protocol set by the Health Ministry before they can return to normal life.

In Vietnam’s second Covid-19 outbreak that kicked off July 25 after 99 days without community transmissions, Quang Nam has recorded 97 infections in total, becoming the second biggest hotspot after Da Nang. Of the 97, three have died, 84 were discharged and 10 others are under treatment.

The province has recorded no new cases for over 25 days. It allowed entertainment outlets, bars, karaoke parlors and dance clubs to reopen last Sunday.

Vietnam has reported 1,060 Covid-19 cases so far, of these 109 are active cases and 35 have died. The country has recorded no new domestic transmissions for the last 10 days.
