Teenager role-playing video game character murders man

Nguyen Tuan Kiet, 19, was arrested by police in the Mekong Delta’s Bac Lieu Province for murder on Tuesday.

On June 18, Kiet brought a knife with him when he left his house in Bac Lieu capital city’s Vinh Trach Commune. He then stabbed a vegetable vendor to death while the man was parking his motorbike on the side of the road.

Police said Kiet is unemployed, often stays home and shows signs of video game and porn addiction.

Kiet said he did not know the victim, and the reason he killed him was because he was role-playing a video game character.
