Teen girl pregnant with twins after 60-year-old neighbor coerces her into sex

Truong Cong Ve, 60, was arrested by police of Cam Thuy District on Tuesday for engaging in sexual intercourse with a person aged from 13 to under 16.

Five days prior, the police received a report by a woman named Nguyen, the victim's mother, saying she left her 8th grader daughter in the care of relatives as she was working in Taiwan. Late last month, she was informed by her daughter's homeroom teacher that the girl was pregnant.

After returning to Vietnam, Nguyen took her child to hospital for a check-up, where doctors told her that her daughter was carrying twins 24 weeks old.

The girl said she was coerced by Ve into sex at his home since March. As she was threatened, she did not dare to tell adults about what happened.

Ve knew he has been put under a police investigation, and so turned himself in and admitted what he did. Paternity tests revealed that the twins are related to Ve.
