Taiwan's healthcare system has been ranked the best in the world for the seventh year in a row, according to Numbeo's annual Health Care Index.

In the 2025 ranking, Taiwan scored 86.5 out of 100, slightly up from 86 last year.

South Korea secured second place with a score of 82.8, followed by Japan (80), the Netherlands (79.3), Denmark (78.4), Austria (77.9), France (77.7), and Finland and Thailand, both scoring 77.5. Spain rounded out the top 10 with 77.3.

Numbeo's rankings are based on user surveys evaluating the quality of healthcare in different economies.

The index assesses factors such as healthcare professionals, facilities, staff, medical equipment, and costs to provide an overall picture of each economy's healthcare system.
