Support Hope Foundation in helping pediatric cancer patients and disadvantaged children

In February 2021, a stem cell transplant for a 32-month-old boy with neuroblastoma was successfully performed by Children's Hospital 2 for the first time. Without a bone marrow transplant, the child's chance of living for a year is only 12%. The entire transplant cost of VND235 million (US$9,600) was sponsored by the Sun of Hope program.

The boy is among 2,000 pediatric cancer patients in difficult circumstances who have received treatment support from the program since 2020. Over 140 children among them have been financially assisted for stem cell, bone marrow, and organ transplants.

Every year, there are 4,200 children with cancer in Vietnam but only 20% of them are cured, compared to up to 80% in developed countries. There are many reasons for this disparity, mainly because families of Vietnamese pediatric patients often have low incomes and have difficulty accessing advanced medicine and technology.

When detected and treated in the "golden stage", children with cancer have many chances to return to normal life.

From the beginning of 2022, Hope Foundation has expanded its focus to autistic children, orphans, disabled children, and children with other serious diseases.

Not only does the program provide financial support to take care of the health and living conditions of future generations, it also focuses on mental support to help disadvantaged children have a better life.

To achieve its goal of supporting the treatment of 1,000 pediatric patients in 2025, Hope Foundation hopes to have the cooperation of readers and benefactors.
