South Korean authorities are looking for two men, one Vietnamese and the other Chinese, for illegally entering the country.

The 24-year-old Vietnamese sailor allegedly reached Incheon Port on a cargo ship that docked last Thursday and fled from the harbor during predawn hours, when there is little surveillance, the KBS World Radio reported, citing Incheon Port Security officials.

The hunt for the man began after security officers last Sunday confirmed his illegal status at the Hyundai Steel port in Incheon.

Immigration officials are also hunting for another 53-year-old Chinese sailor who also illegally entered the country through an Incheon wharf on October 22.

South Korea is one of the largest labor export markets for Vietnam. However, the number of migrant workers who reside in the country illegally is relatively high.

There were over 45,398 Vietnamese migrant workers in South Korea as of June 2018. The majority of them are registered under the Employment Permit System, according to official labor reports.

Vietnamese also account for 30-40 percent of around 200,000 illegal foreign workers in South Korea.
