The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) on Nov. 6 said the man was stopped on Oct. 17 after officers noticed irregularities in the scanned images of his luggage and observed that he appeared visibly nervous, Asia One reported.
A detailed search uncovered a syringe suspected to be used for drug consumption, a sachet of suspected drugs and seven items of drug paraphernalia, The Straits Times reported.
The man subsequently tested positive for methamphetamine and was handed over to the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) for further investigation. CNB later seized more controlled substances, including five Erimin-5 tablets, three ecstasy pills, 3.78 grams of methamphetamine, a vape device with two pods, and additional paraphernalia.
Officers then escorted him to his residence, where they found another 15.5 grams of meth and more drug-related items. The CNB confirmed the arrest and said investigations are ongoing.
