S.Korea summons Vietnamese embassy worker for selling passport copies

South Korea has summoned a member of staff from the Seoul-based Vietnamese Embassy following allegations he sold copies of Vietnamese passports to a Korean telecommunications company.

The man is accused of selling 600 copies for $4 each, accordingto Yonhap News Agency.

The man was contractor and not an official or diplomat, according to the Vietnamese Embassy's statement. 

“He was hired to supervise, update information and statistics and provide consultancy for the staff”, said the embassy.

The embassy has terminated his contract and is working with Korean authorities to investigate the case.
