Quang Ninh district chief suspended over rape allegation

Le Hung Son, secretary of the Co To District Party Committee and chairman of the Co To District People’s Committee, has been suspended per a Friday decision by the Standing Committee of Quang Ninh Party Committee, the Bao Ve Phap Luat (Law Protection) newspaper reported.

It said an investigation would be launched by the supervisory committee of the northern province to consider the case and decide on the punishment for Son if he is found guilty.

District police are investigating the alleged rape, the report said.
