President Nguyen Xuan Phuc to attend APEC in Thailand

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, his wife and a high-ranking delegation will pay a five-day (November 16-19) visit to Thailand and attend the APEC Economic Leaders Meeting.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Thursday that per an invitation by Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, Phuc would pay an official visit to Thailand and attend the 29th APEC.

Thailand is Vietnam's largest commercial partner within ASEAN, with two-way trade turnover reaching $18.8 billion in 2021, an 18% increase over the previous year. Trade turnover in the first 9 months this year reached $16.1 billion, a 17.2% increase year-on-year.

The 2022 APEC Economic Leaders' Week will be held November 14-19 in the Thai capital of Bangkok. The theme of the meeting is "Open. Connect. Balance." Discussions will focus on commerce, open investments and sustainable development.
