Plane lands on Hanoi with damaged wheel

The Airbus 320 just took off from Da Lat's Lien Khuong Airport at noon when an airport employee discovered a piece of rubber on the ground, suspected to be a piece of a plane wheel.

The discovery was communicated to Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport, where the plane safely landed on at around 12:13 p.m.

A representative of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said authorities have requested technicians to perform a check-up and discovered that one wheel of the plane was indeed damaged. However, its internal pressure remained at normal levels.

An investigation is ongoing.
