Vietnam confirmed one new imported Covid-19 infection from the Philippines Sunday evening, taking its active case count to 127.

The 29-year-old man, "Patient 1307," landed November 19 at the Can Tho International Airport in the eponymous southern city on Vietjet Air flight VJ2527 from the Philippines. He tested positive for the novel coronavirus Saturday and is being treated at the Long Dinh field hospital in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang.

Of the 127 active cases, 25 have tested negative at least once.

Over 8,400 are in quarantine nationwide, according to the Health Ministry.

Vietnam has recorded 1,307 Covid-19 cases so far with 1,142 recoveries and 35 deaths. Many of the fatalities have been elderly patients with underlying conditions like diabetes and kidney failure.

No community transmission has been recorded in the country for almost three months.

Globally, the disease has claimed almost 1.39 million lives among more than 58.6 million infections.
