As proposed by municipal authorities, a pedestrian-only street around the lake would be cleared of vehicular traffic every weekend night.
If the proposal is approved, the street is expected to open to the public in early June every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.
The area will feature entertainment services, including community night performances, cultural exchanges and martial arts events. The walking street will also be flanked with stalls selling signature regional products.

Authorities propose arranging traffic checkpoints at two intersections along the walking street. At these checkpoints, motorbike parking would be allowed on the roadway. Other parking lots would be located in Tran Quoc Toan and Tao Dan parks.
The street would be cleaned daily, equipped with public toilets, recycle bins, decorative lights, and benches.
The Da Lat People's Committee aims to make the scene a place for people from all over the world to gather.
Da Lat, a former French hill station in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, is a major tourist destination.
