The two bell towers of the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon have been decorated by strings of LED lights spanning 500 km for Christmas and New Year.

The lighting system strung around the cathedral was completed on Thursday.

Priest Ignatio Ho Van Xuan, head of the cathedral renovation committee, said this year the cathedral is decorated on the front, back and the sides, which requires 500,000 m worth of strings of LED lights. There will also be a Star of Bethlehem decoration in the middle of the two towers.

This is the second time that the cathedral has been decorated for Christmas ever since its reparation and renovation in 2017. Last year, the structure used around 80,000 m of light strings to decorate the bell towers.
