Nine more Covid-19 cases recover

Nine patients in Hanoi, the central Quang Nam Province and the Central Highlands’ Dak Lak Province were announced Covid-19 free Wednesday, putting the tally of active cases at 139.

Four of them, aged 21-42, were treated in Hanoi’s National Hospital for Tropical Diseases. Four others, aged 44-90, were treated in the Quang Nam Central General Hospital, and a 14-year-old boy was treated at the Dak Lak Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases Hospital.

Hanoi has not recorded any domestic cases in the last 23 days, while Quang Nam has stayed clean for 22 and Dak Lak for 36 days.

Vietnam has recorded 1,054 Covid-19 cases so far, 35 of whom have succumbed to the disease. Many of the fatalities are elderly patients with underlying conditions such as diabetes and kidney failure.

The country has not recorded any local transmission cases in the last six days.
