The National Assembly is expected to approve the dismissal of Nguyen Van The from his position as transport minister, upon the prime minister's request.

The 4th plenary session of the 15th National Assembly is scheduled to begin on October 20 and end on November 15. Per the agenda, the National Assembly would have meetings to listen to the Standing Committee regarding the dismissal of the state auditor general for the 2021-2026 term and listen to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requesting the dismissal of the transport minister for the 2021-2026 term.

Reasons for the dismissal have not been revealed.

There would be procedures on October 21 to select the new state auditor general and to approve new personnel for the positions of the minister of health and the minister of transport, according to the agenda.

On July 15, Dao Hong Lan, Party chief of the northern province of Bac Ninh, was appointed acting health minister after her predecessor Nguyen Thanh Long was arrested for involvement in a Covid-19 test kit fraud in 2020.

On July 25, Ngo Van Tuan, Party Secretary of the northern province of Hoa Binh, was appointed Secretary of the Party delegation at the State Audit of Vietnam and Deputy Auditor General in charge of the State Audit of Vietnam.
