Rose Aza Che Ariffin, the education director for the state of Perlis, said the student had used a vaporizer during break time at his school in Kangar, the Astro Awani reported. The student, unnamed, allegedly felt dizzy shortly after vaping and attempted to climb down from the roof. However, he lost his balance and fell, sustaining minor leg injuries.
The school contacted the police after the student exhibited signs of distress. The student told authorities that he had found the vape device in his classroom before heading to the roof for a walk, The Star reported.
The student was taken to a local health clinic for examination, where a urine drug test returned negative. He was later released into the care of his guardian.
In response to the incident, three other students from the school have been suspended, and an investigation is currently underway.
Vaping is prohibited for minors in Malaysia.
