The National Assembly will convene its second extraordinary session on January 5 to discuss urgent personnel issues, NA General Secretary Bui Van Cuong said.

The session, slated to focus on Vietnam’s 2021-2030 national master plan "with a vision towards 2050," will discuss and issue decisions on several financial and budget issues.

The upcoming session will also consider the continued implementation of pandemic prevention policies as well as set aside time to "address personnel issues."

As planned, the second extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly will hold a preparatory meeting on the afternoon of January 4 before officially opening the next morning.

Earlier this year, the NA convened for an extraordinary session to discuss several critical issues including a stimulus package to revive the Covid-19-hit economy.

The National Assembly usually has two sessions a year, in April-May and October-November.
