International guests help clean up Da Nang beach

Local residents and members of the Global Environment Facility group pick up trash on Da Nang beach.

Around 600 people participated in beach clean-up organized on Tuesday by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in partnership with the Global Environment Facility (GEF), an international NGO.

Delegates of GEF are having fun while picking up trash at Nguyen Tat Thanh Beach in Da Nang City. The group is here in Da Nang to participate in its the six days event Sixth Assembly and Associated Meetings.

High school and college students, and many volunteers contribute in the clean up process. The events purpose is to gain public attention about ocean plastic waste environment issue.

The group pick up lots of plastic bags and bottles, and other objects along Phu Loc canal as it clustered with trashes when the rain season hits.
