The Vietnam Government Portal reported that the company's chairman Gautam Adani extended his condolences to the Vietnamese people, particularly those impacted by the typhoon and the subsequent flooding and landslides, which have left at least 233 people dead in northern Vietnam over the past week.
The $1 million contribution will be directed to the Central Relief Mobilization Committee to aid in relief efforts across northern Vietnam, as well as to the Viet Tiep Hospital in Hai Phong.
Adani Group has also committed to ongoing investments in Vietnam, with plans to launch projects aimed at assisting local communities and strengthening regional economies.
Adani is India's largest airport operator, which also oversees Mundra, the country's busiest port.
Its chairman Gautam Adani is the 21st richest man in the world and second in Asia, with a net worth of $80.6 billion as of Sept. 13, according to Forbes.
