Husband murders wife after high-speed motorbike chase in northern Vietnam

Than Van Hieu, 25, has reportedly told the police that he chased his wife on a motorbike at around 10 p.m. in Viet Yen District after they argued and she rode her motorbike towards her parents' house in Thuong Lan Commune.

The reports say that based on security camera footage collected after residents found the woman dead on the street, Hieu appears to have splashed acid at his wife and slashed her many times with a knife.

The woman screamed for help throughout the whole ordeal, but no one seemed to have heard her.

Authorities say the pair had been married for five years and had two children aged 5 and 3.

Hieu was arrested by Viet Yen District police early on Tuesday and the murder investigation is ongoing.
