The blast, which occurred around 8 p.m., destroyed the home of 33-year-old Be Van Chien, causing the roof and walls to collapse.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud, bomb-like explosion, followed by flames and a series of smaller blasts. The 100-square-meter house was severely damaged, with debris scattered across the site. Firecracker remnants were also found at the scene.
Chien was the only person inside the house at the time of the explosion. His wife and child were not home. Local authorities confirmed Chien's death.
Bui Quang Chuc, chairman of the Vo Tranh Commune People’s Committee, said that police are continuing to examine the incident to determine its cause.
