Of the funding, approximately VND440 million has been allocated for repairs to school infrastructure, including fixing roofs, installing doors, creating ceilings, rebuilding fences, and repainting classrooms. The remaining VND500 million has been used to provide essential classroom furniture and equipment such as desks, chairs, books, water purifiers, cabinets, and shelves.

The schools benefiting from this support include two primary schools in Van An and Chi Lang Communes, two secondary schools in Chi Lang and Quan Son Communes, and five kindergartens in Quan Son Commune, namely, Son Ca, Chi Lang, Bac Thuy, and Thuong Cuong.
Vi Thi Hai Duyen, principal of Chi Lang Kindergarten, recounted the devastation typhoon Yagi caused when it struck on Sept. 9. Floodwaters submerged the school, felling fences, trees, and the school gate. Essentials such as rice cookers, refrigerators, water purifiers, and dish dryers, were destroyed in the mud.
"It was heartbreaking to see the school in ruins," said Duyen.

Cau Ngam School and Quan Son Kindergarten received VND200 million for classroom renovations to accommodate students from Lang Ha School, which was severely damaged and deemed unsafe following the storm.
In addition to helping schools recover, Hope Foundation also visited and provided gifts to families of students and teachers who were struggling with the aftermath of the typhoon.
Typhoon Yagi's impact left 13 schools in Chi Lang District severely damaged. Nguyen Mai Huyen, Head of the district’s Department of Education and Training, expressed gratitude for the timely response from Hope Foundation and other sponsors, which provided much-needed funds for recovery.
"The support from VnExpress readers and sponsors has brought hope to Chi Lang District. It has helped teachers and students feel safe returning to school and eased the burden on families affected by the storm," Huyen said.

The campaign "To Weather The Storm", carried out by Hope Foundation in Chi Lang District has received support from FPT Corporation (over VND460 million), Ceragem Vietnam (over VND120 million), U.S. Alumni Club VUSAC (VND100 million), Vinamilk, Giao Hang Tiet Kiem Joint Stock Company and thousands of VnExpress readers.

The foundation is now working with local authorities to survey the damage and develop targeted support plans for each area. Priority is being given to restoring educational infrastructure, including rebuilding classrooms, reinforcing embankments, and providing books, school supplies, and clothing for students affected by the disaster.
Following its efforts in Lang Son, the Hope Foundation plans to extend its support to schools in Luc Yen and Van Yen Districts in Yen Bai Province and Bao Yen District in Lao Cai Province.
