People with diplomatic and official Vietnamese passports will not require visas to go to Hong Kong starting Thursday.

The information was released by the Consul General of Vietnam in Hong Kong, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

People with the aforementioned passports will be able to stay in Hong Kong for up to 14 days.

The move would facilitate and improve diplomatic exchanges conditions between Vietnam and Hong Kong, said Tran Thanh Huan, the Consul General of Vietnam in Hong Kong.

He also hoped that Hong Kong would provide more favorable conditions to grant visas to Vietnamese visitors, especially Vietnamese workers and students.
