The ministry has expressed support for the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs's suggestion that the Tet holiday run from Jan. 25 to Feb. 2, 2025, media reports said. The break will include two weekends and start four days before the new lunar year begins.
For the Reunification Day and Labor Day holiday, the Ministry of Home Affairs endorsed the option of five-day break from April 30 to May 4, 2025. For the National Day holiday, it backed the four-day option from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2, 2025, instead of the two-day option on Sept. 2 and 3.
The prime minister will have a final say on the holidays.
Vietnam currently observes 11 official public holidays, including New Year's Day, Tet, Reunification Day-Labor Day, and National Day.
