Colorful fireworks displays will blast off from six Ho Chi Minh City locations at midnight Lunar New Year Eve January 21 after a two-year Covid hiatus.

Each fifteen-minute show will be held in a different district, said Deputy Head of the HCMC Culture and Sports Department Vo Trong Nam Sunday morning.

The city will also host other activities to celebrate the Tet (Lunar New Year holiday festival) January 20-26.

A book sale will fill the streets of Le Loi Road in District 1 January 19-26. Massive flower displays and sculptures will also decorate the popular pedestrian-only Nguyen Hue Road.

Traditional Vietnamese music will also be performed at various local venues.
