Hanoi woman shot dead after birthday party

Authorities said the unnamed woman, who lives in Hoan Kiem District, was leaving a birthday party with her lover on Wednesday when she was shot with pellets.

She was taken to hospital, but later died of the gun shot.

Police said her lover had an altercation at the party. Someone tried to shoot the man but hit her instead.

An investigation is ongoing.
