Hanoi will invest US$254 million in developing a new industrial cluster in Phu Xuyen District, aimed at modernizing traditional craft production and boosting local economic growth, city authorities announced.

The Nam Tien Craft Village Industrial Cluster will span 26.3 hectares across Nam Tien Commune and Phu Minh Town, areas known for carpentry and mechanical engineering. The project is designed to relocate scattered production facilities from residential neighborhoods into a centralized zone, with the goal of improving environmental protection, enhancing product quality and promoting sustainable industrial practices.

Hoang Tin Urban and Infrastructure Development Investment JSC has been named the main investor. Construction is expected to take two years, and the cluster will operate for 50 years upon completion.

The site will feature modern infrastructure, including a centralized wastewater treatment plant, separate drainage systems for wastewater and surface water, street lighting and green landscaping. Hanoi officials said priority will be given to secondary investors that employ clean, automated and high-tech production methods meeting strict environmental standards.

The cluster is expected to generate new employment opportunities and accelerate Phu Xuyen’s shift toward industrialization and global economic integration.

By 2030, Hanoi plans to establish 159 industrial clusters covering more than 3,200 hectares, expand five existing clusters built between 2017 and 2020, and construct 21 new ones over an additional 536 hectares.
