A man paragliding off a hill in Hanoi's Chuong My District was caught between power lines on Saturday.

At around 3 p.m., the man paraglided off the Bu 333 hill in Nam Phuong Tien My Commune. He intended to land in a field area in the neighborhood of Nui Be Village, but he was caught between power lines instead.

A witness said the man had been blown by winds, causing his parachutes to get caught up in the lines, leaving the man hovering 30 m off the ground.

The northern power company later deployed over 10 people to come to the scene from Hoa Binh City. A representative of the company said a power cut was ordered in the area, causing blackout at a cement factory.

At 4:18 p.m., the strings to the parachute snapped and the man fell to the ground, where sheets and mattresses have been placed to prevent his injuries.

Previously on Oct. 20, another man paragliding from a hill in Hoa Binh was also caught between power lines, requiring help from authorities.
